Ordered a new tailgate

I recently had to replace the tailgate on my truck after an unfortunate incident. I found a good price for a new one on Partsmax. The website was easy to navigate, and finding the right part for my specific year and model was simple with their search filters. I placed the order and got a confirmation email right away. Shipping took about 7 business days to get to my mechanic's shop in Georgia, which wasn't too bad for such a large item. The tailgate arrived well-packaged in a big box, no dings or damage during transit. My mechanic said it fit well and installation went smoothly. I also grabbed a set of new door hinges and a window regulator for another project, and those were fine too. Overall, a good experience and saved me some cash compared to local options.

Good for common parts

This was my third time ordering from Partsmax, mostly for body parts for my older sedan. I picked up a new bumper cover and a couple of side markers this time. Like always, the ordering process was straightforward, and they arrived in about a week. The parts are always consistent quality for aftermarket stuff, nothing fancy but they get the job done and fit well enough. It's why I keep coming back for these types of repairs.

Headlight fit great

I needed a new headlight for my car after a fender bender. Ordered it from Partsmax, and it came pretty quick, like 4 days to get to me in Arizona. It fit perfectly, no issues at all. Super easy to install myself too.

Decent price, slow shipping

I bought a replacement fender and a new radiator from Partsmax. The prices were definitely competitive, which was the main draw. The fender itself was good quality for an aftermarket part, no major dents or scratches. However, the shipping took a bit longer than I expected, almost 9 days to reach me in rural Oregon. Everything was packaged well, though, so no damage. Customer service was okay when I called about the shipping time, but they just said it was typical for large items. Overall, a solid option if you're not in a huge rush.

Does Partsmax do any kind of discounts for first-time customers? About to drop some cash on a new grille and headlights.

R Robert P. 1 week ago
Yeah, I think they usually have a first-order discount if you sign up for their newsletter. Check the banner on the site.

I definitely got a percentage off my first purchase a while back. Just look for a pop-up or something when you hit the site.

Has anyone had to return something to Partsmax? What's their policy like if a part shows up damaged?

B Brandon Harris 2 weeks ago
I had a minor ding on a headlight, sent them pics and they sorted it out pretty quick. Got a replacement shipped.

If it's damaged on arrival, they're usually good about it. Just make sure you check it right away.

Trying to decide between Partsmax and Carparts.com for some suspension stuff. Any thoughts on which is better?

C Chris 3 weeks ago
Partsmax usually has better prices on body panels, but for suspension, it might be a toss-up. I'd compare the exact parts you need.

I've used both. Carparts.com sometimes has more variety for mechanical stuff. Partsmax is my go-to for body components though, feels like their specialty.

Hey, thinking about grabbing a new bumper cover for my Civic. How long does shipping usually take to California for something like that?

G Grace P. 3 weeks ago
For big stuff like bumper covers, it can take a bit longer. I got a fender from them a few months ago and it was like a week and a half to LA. They use freight for large items.

Yeah, I ordered a hood and it was about 8 business days to NorCal. You can probably track it once it ships though.

Are these parts painted already or do they come primer only? Need a fender for my black car.

R Ryan T. 3 weeks ago
Almost all aftermarket body parts come unpainted, usually just a black or grey primer. You'll need to get it painted locally.

Primer only. Don't expect it to match your car's color out of the box.
